Introduction
The Parish Council has worked as closely as possible with the EWR Project Team and Oxfordshire County Council. However, as with all these types of projects, the Parish Council is only one of many statutory consultees.
The scale of the project has meant that Launton is just one small part of a much bigger scheme.
The East West Rail team has created a Community Hub where you can find out more about the project.
For more information go to https://communityhub.eastwestrail.co.uk/ where you can register for updates and contributions.
There’s also a YouTube video which explains how the hub works
If you have any comments please let THEM know.
The questions raised by villagers in the summer of 2020 covered here are:
Why is this all suddenly happening now?
Why have the footpaths been closed?
Why are the closures marked as temporary?
When will the footbridge be installed?
How many footbridges will there be?
Why does Station Road have to be closed?
Other questions:
Why does the Compound by Charbridge Lane have to have so much lighting?
Unfortunately, the lighting is essential for EWR requirements during out of hours and giving safe access for their security teams. Please be assured that the current lighting is focused to be just around our offices with CCTV camera support during our out of hours.
