Why does Station Road have to be closed?

As part of the works, Station Road will be re-routed over the railway line to remove the current level crossing.

This will cause disruption to the north of the village and will mean that access to Poundon, Marsh Gibbon and Stratton Audley will be limited during the construction.

There has been a TTRO (Temporary Traffic Regulation Order) to close Station Road from 8 May 2020 to 8 May 2023.

However, EWR has assured the Parish Council that they will keep it open as much as possible and with that in mind, the Parish Council has asked for a rolling programme of dates and times to be publicised and for the contractors to ensure that the closure signs are arranged daily, both morning and afternoon, so that they can be relied on.
