Bicester Heritage will be opening their doors again from 9am until 2pm on Sunday 9 October.

The Scramble promises visitors the chance to experience historic motoring at its best, through a curated display of classic cars, open workshop doors and lots of surprises for the family along the way.

You will be able to visit the 45 industry-leading specialist businesses based in their restored historic buildings at Bicester Heritage. Family and dog friendly, the Scramble is a wonderful way to while away the weekend hours in the company of some spectacular machines.

The Parish Council has just been informed by the EWR team that the Bicester Road over the bridge, which was scheduled to re-open on 27 May, will not now re-open until Wednesday 1 June.

We have been given an update for when Gigaclear will be working in the village to install their cabling.

We have been assured that the information will also be sent via email to all residents who have previously registered their details with Gigaclear. Any other interested residents can also register for periodic permit updates at Gigaclear.com/mycommunity

They anticipate the main access cabinet to become live at some point in the third quarter of this year, and anticipate that the entire build to be completed by the first quarter of 2023.

Charbridge Lane will be closed overnight between 8pm and 6am (on week nights only) from Thursday 12 until Friday 27 May.

This is for final completion works of the carriageway prior to the full opening of the bridge by East West Rail in June.

The Parish Council recognises that it has been a very difficult time traffic-wise in the village over the last few months.  The increase in traffic has been exacerbated by the works on the A41 to build the roundabout near Ambrosden; unfortunately, it was not possible to stop the traffic coming through the village as the road is a public highway.

As you’ll now know, Station Road was opened on Saturday 12 March, albeit with a 40mph speed restriction over the bridge, because Oxfordshire County Council required more work to be done to extend the barriers before it was finally approved.

The Bicester Road will be closed at the railway bridge for more work (including putting in safety barriers) for eight weeks from 28 March until 27 May.  This is two weeks more than advertised because it was found that more safety work is needed.  Contrary to the first leaflet distributed by East West Rail, pedestrian access WILL be maintained over the bridge and we have been assured that there will also be temporary traffic lights on the Blackthorn Road junction with the A41.

Meanwhile, the road to Marsh Gibbon from the northern Station Road crossroads will be closed from 14 March until 17 June so that the new railway bridge can be installed.
